The Materials: Livia Firth's Eco-Age has closed down

Eco-Age, the British-Italian sustainability consulting company, has announced it has closed down after suffering financial losses caused by criminal activity. Its founder Livia Firth released the information on July 31 through the company's Instagram account.

“Tragically the business was targeted by criminals, and although we tried–we really tried–we have been unable to recover financially from the impact,” she wrote, adding that she could not release additional details as a police investigation was running.

“For 17 years we have been relentlessly promoting, advocating, changing, partnering, galvanizing, mobilizing and uniting on behalf of a liveable planet for all,” she continued.

The company has advised various brands and industry groups on sustainability campaigns and programs including, among others, Candiani Denim, Manteco, North Sails, as well as advocacy initiatives including the Green Carpet Fashion Awards and Genova Jeans.
